POW Clients

Thank you for your interest in Pure Desire Ministries International and the POW Program. This strategy for support, healing, and restoration was given its name because most pastors who struggle with sex addiction feel like prisoners of war (POWs) in their own churches. They are engaged in a battle they cannot win alone, but feel they have no choice but to fight in isolation.

The POW Program is designed to encourage pastors and leaders to seek healing and restoration before inappropriate sexual behavior occurs. Through this program, Pure Desire offers partnerships with church denominations, districts, and para-church organizations to avoid catastrophic events related to sexual moral failure. We offer proven clinical treatment providing hope and healing to pastors, families, and churches. As a POW Program client, you can expect the following process:

1   Your initial contact with Pure Desire should include communicating your affiliation with a POW Program participating group.

2   In addition to intake forms, Pure Desire will require that you complete a Consent to Release Information Form giving consent to release information to your supervisor and/or pastor.

3   If you are married, your spouse must complete a Consent to Release Information Form as well.

4   Following receipt of the consent to release form(s), your supervisor will be forwarded a Client Support Agreement from our Client Care team giving opportunity—without obligation—to be financially involved in your evaluation process.

5   You—and your spouse, if you are married and your spouse is participating—will take assessments. You will take 3 assessments, and your spouse will take 2 assessments. (See evaluation process link for details.)

6   After Client Care receives completed assessments (approximately 2 weeks), you will be contacted by Client Care to schedule an evaluation session with a clinician.

7   Following the evaluation session, your supervisor will be contacted confidentially by your clinician regarding your situation/recommended treatment plan.

8   If you agree to participate in Pure Desire’s Clinical Treatment Program, you will sign a contract outlining the financial arrangements.

9   After you sign the contract, your supervisor will be forwarded a financial agreement giving opportunity—without obligation—to be financially involved in your clinical treatment.

10   Halfway through the eleven-month clinical treatment, your supervisor will receive a confidential assessment of your progress from your clinician.

11   In addition, at the completion of the eleven-month clinical treatment, your supervisor will receive a confidential assessment of your progress and/or recommended continued treatment plan.

Often pastors and leaders feel secluded by shame and are fearful they may lose employment, a career, and possibly God’s call on their lives. Most pastors and leaders who struggle with sexual issues do not seek help. Through the POW Program, by God’s extravagant grace, you can experience support, healing, and restoration.
